How to Connect Your Own SAIA Account to Shipifi

If you have your own SAIA freight account, you can connect it to Shipifi to use your negotiated rates and book shipments directly.

Step 1: Collect Your SAIA Credentials

Before adding your account, make sure you have the following from SAIA:

  • User ID (SAIA-provided API username, usually an email)
  • Password (API password)
  • Account Number (your SAIA freight account number)
  • Rate Key (provided by SAIA to access rate quotes)
  • BOL Key (provided by SAIA to generate Bills of Lading)

If you don’t have the API credentials or keys, contact your SAIA representative and request access to their web services.



Step 2: Log in to Shipifi

  1. Sign in to your [Shipifi account]().
  2. Go to Settings → Carrier Accounts.
  3. Click Add Carrier and select SAIA.



Step 3: Enter Your SAIA Account Information

Fill in the required fields as shown in the setup window:

  • Account Label → A nickname for your account inside Shipifi (e.g., SAIA Main Account).
    • This label is important because it will be used when you call SAIA rates inside Shipifi.
  • User ID → Your SAIA API username.
  • Password → Your SAIA API password.
  • Account → Your SAIA freight account number.
  • Rate Key → The rate key provided by SAIA.
  • BOL Key → The BOL key provided by SAIA.

💡 Tip: Double-check that there are no spaces before or after the values you paste in.

Step 4: Enable and Save

  1. Toggle the Disabled switch at the top right to Enabled.
  2. Click Save.

Shipifi will test the connection to SAIA. If successful, your SAIA account will appear under active carriers.

Step 5: Start Shipping with SAIA

Once your account is connected, you can:

  • Get real-time SAIA rates.
  • Book shipments using your own SAIA account.
  • Generate and manage BOLs directly in Shipifi.


Troubleshooting

  • Invalid Credentials: If you see an error, verify your User ID, Password, Rate Key, and BOL Key with SAIA support.
  • Missing Keys: Contact your SAIA account manager to obtain your Rate Key and BOL Key.
